FAVORITE TROPICAL FRUITS

Rambutans are sold in large bunches at the local market.

A rambutan looks hairy on the outside. Just twist the skin, and out pops a sweet little grape.

This is a Vietnamese fruit called Dragonfruit. It can be white or hot pink on the inside, and has a very mild flavor.

This is what the inside of a Mangosteen looks like. After cutting the fruit in half, you pick out the sweet white pieces. Yum!

CHINATOWN!

The kids and I spent an afternoon in Chinatown

Wesley and his friend Corey made friends with the ice cream man. They found out that an ice cream sandwich is truly a block of ice cream between two pieces of bread! Wesley said he felt like "the tallest person in Chinatown", haha!

Kasey had her hair put up in a bun using chopsticks!
This is one of the Chinese temples that we visited.....

SINGAPORE ZOO

Our first outing was a visit to the Singapore Zoo with neighbors

The monkeys were our favorites!

I guess you're never too old to play on animal statues, huh?

SINGAPORE, HERE WE COME!

We arrived in Singapore on July 8th at 1:00am. Can you say jet-lag?

The kids were allowed to go into the cockpit after we landed in Tokyo. And NO, Kasey did NOT fly the plane! :)

The 25 hour flight to Singapore was made bearable by our surprise upgrade to first class, thanks to a family friend Felix Bulls who not only is a pilot for American Airlines, he was OUR pilot from Dallas to Tokyo! How lucky are we???
