THE DREADED DENGUE FEVER!

This picture was taken around the corner from our house. Unfortunately, our neighborhood has been deemed a "hotspot" for dengue fever outbreaks. Dengue Fever is a serious illness that results from a mosquito bite. Several of our neighbors have suffered the effects of Dengue Fever.
The NEA (National Environment Agency) is mosquito fogging the neighborhood as well as the school on a regular basis in an effort to get rid of the mosquitos and put an end to Dengue!

SINGAPORE AMERICAN SCHOOL

Here is an aerial view of the SAS swimming pool with the track just behind it.
Very nice facilities!

The campus is beautiful, with picnic tables scattered throughout for the students to hang out between classes or to eat lunch outside if they want to.

Just inside the main entrance to the school.

Looking down from the walkway over part of the high school.

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL AT SINGAPORE AMERICAN SCHOOL

Wesley and Kasey in their school uniforms on the first day of school. Yes, I still take pics on the first day of school, and yes, it still embarasses the kids! Wesley is a sophomore this year and Kasey is a freshman. Every other Wednesday is "Alternate Dress Day" when they can wear whatever they want to. School starts at 8:00am, gets out at 3:00pm, with activities/clubs until 4:00pm and athletics until 6:00pm. It's a very long day!

OUR 21st ANNIVERSARY

We celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary at Clark Quay and left the kids home alone!

CLUB MED - BINTAN, INDONESIA

Our first trip outside of Singapore was to Indonesia the end of July. It was a 50 minute high-speed ferry ride from Singapore to Indonesia.

We were given "medals" for placing second in the kayak race!

On our way to one of many delicious buffet dinners

Shelby and Wes played 36 holes of golf one day and loved every minute of it!

This is the monkey that ran off with Wesley's golf ball - do you think he got it back?

CLUB MED - BINTAN, INDONESIA

Kasey's favorite activity was the "circus school" where she learned to do the flying trapeze. I think she really just liked the hot Australian guy who was helping her!

Wesley goes flying thru the air on the trapeze.....

While at the archery range we discovered that Ara, the Korean guy who is helping Kasey in this photo, was one of the camp counselors at Camp Classen in Oklahoma when the kids were there several years ago. SMALL WORLD!!!

This is an aerial view of the pool taken from one of the balconies above. You can see the South China Sea in the distance. The sand was soft and the water a beautiful turquoise blue.

Here we are, doing what we do best - Nothing!
