RIDING ATV'S IN CHIANG MAI

Today we rode 40km on ATV's through the beautiful countryside and saw lots of bamboo and mango trees. It was a very dusty ride, and we were quite gritty by the time it was over!
It was a neat way to see some of the villages.

We stopped at a waterfall to cool off

We stopped at a roadside stand for a cold drink and to use the bathroom. All the doorways were "Asian sized", and Wesley got the biggest kick out of how short they were! I'm proud to report that I successfully mastered the art of the Chinese "squatty potty", aka hole in the ground. Kasey and I have learned never to go anywhere in Asia without a package of tissues!

Stopped at a neighborhood temple during our ride

Shelby leading the way!

Here we are at the beginning of the ride. None of us had ridden ATV's before. Our crash driving course consisted of riding down a straight path, making one turn, and we were good to go. They showed us the brake, the gas, gave us a helmet and a thumbs up and off we went! It was really fun!
